Techniques for Stress Management and to Improve Performance

Academic pressures, peer pressure, social expectations, and demands on time barrage students today in ways that most of us, as children, could have never imagined.  They are exposed to more mature influences today than ever before, yet their ages, in years, are far from the level necessary to meet the demands.

We expect children to have skills to manage these situations, but no one has taught them how this can be done. Providing students with knowledge of how their brains and bodies react in different situations, and teaching them coping strategies and stress management allow students to be more emotionally stable. Then they can recognize how their words and actions matter, and than make choices. A child needs to have healthy habits for a healthy and stress free lifestyle. A child must have the habits that are key to healthy body and mind.

Children can be empowered to lead lives that are productive, positive, and fulfilling. In each of these programs, students will be provided opportunities to offer input, share insights, problem solve with peers, and forge new paths for success. Cooperative groups and individual activities will combine to create the best atmosphere for student success. Some programs will focus specifically on study skills.

My extensive training, plus twenty-two years in public and private schools, as a teacher and principal, provides experience and insight to meet the academic and emotional needs of children.
